About
Residual Frontiers is a collection of thoughts, writings and experiment done by the Geographic Observatory. It is a archive of ideas that have not yet fully been realized. This may take the form drawings, conversations or articles for the local news paper.
The Geographic Observatory is a collaboration that is currently working to understand how and what we are. We are interested in understanding the land in a fashion that allows us to critically engage with the present state of the land as we encounter it. At points we feel as though our responses take on different organizations that research, engage, and archive specific sets of information. At other points it is nothing more then a honest conversation between people.
To date the Observatory has functioned as a think tank and sounding board for our own individual artist practice*. Currently we are working to make the Geographic Observatory push the ideas and conversations that exist between our individual artistic practices. We are looking to further our collective ideas, interests, and experiences.
Our thoughts and ideas are shaped into proposals, diagrams, drawings, walks, workshops, public art installations, equipment prototypes, and publications. Please take a thick look at our work, ideas and collective practice. What we inhabit is a place of making, or becoming, it is not clear or solid. It is a place of the future.
